I am a web developer, teacher, and musician with a passion for knowledge
and the desire to work on projects that benefit the community. Feel free
to have a look at my resume
here.
I enjoy teaching private lessons in both music and web development. I am currently teaching music lessons on a variety of instruments at Beacock Music.
I have been working in the tech sector for over 2 years and have throughly enjoyed the experience. I've worked as a Front-End Developer, a Web Content Specialist, and continue to improve my skills with Customer Relationship Management and Marketing Automation.
I have been playing music for over 10 years now. I studied jazz improvisation at UNR and continue to play in my free time for fun. While studying in Reno I was frequently playing with a local band called Ditch the Pilot, you can listen to some of our music here.
I currently work at IAE North America assisting with customer relationship management and marketing automation. I use Salesforce and Oracle Eloqua to manage email campaigns and make sure tracking information is set up correctly. My main client is Philips Healthcare and I work under the Ultrasound business group.
I worked at Wacom for 10 months and while doing so I helped launch a new Ecommerce platform called insite. I've worked with people at Wacom's office in the Americas as well as with people in China, Japan, and Germany. While helping out with the eStore we also managed the content for our website in multiple languages using a CMS called Sitecore.
Dice Services was my first job as a web developer after graduation from Epicodus. They hired me to help rebuild their Craigslist marketing application. I worked with AngularJS to develop a new control panel as well as image manipulation capabilities.
Impact Dialing was my first development experience after studying at Epicodus. It was a great opportunity for me to continue learning and gain experience working with an incredibly large codebase.
Jimmy Johns was a excellent job that I held throughout college in Reno and for a year in Portland. I coordinated catering events and helped with marketing for the opening of a new store in downtown Portland. I started as a delivery driver and worked my way up to catering manager.
Maytan Music was my first job after college. It served as a chance for me to put my knowledge to use and spread it throughout the community. The store is currently no longer in business but many of Maytan's teachers still teach in Reno.
Epicodus furthered my knowledge of HTML and CSS, while teaching me new skills in JavaScript, jQuery, Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, PostgreSQL, AJAX, and APIs. The most important skill I have learned is how to think more like a programmer, write elegant code, and pick up new languages and technologies in an ever chaning industry.
After moving to Portland, I decided that I wanted to take part in the exciting and booming tech scene. PCC helped me develop the fundaments of HTML and CSS.
UNR was a significant stepping stone and my first experience moving away from home. I studied a variety of topics for a well rounded education and minored in both music and business.
Palo Verde was a great school with some incredibly influential teachers. While studying as an honor student, I continued to feed my love for knowledge and improved my skills in both math and music.
